On Saturday, November 15, the Rio Grande Zoo will be hosting a FREE
workshop for educators on the Mexican Gray Wolf. Attend this workshop
to learn about the wolf in New Mexico and how you can use this animal to
capture your students' attention for lessons about science, math, social
studies and language arts. All participants will receive a free copy of
the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge's teacher's guide packed with
K-12 lessons coordinated to the state standards and benchmarks.

The workshop is from 9:00am-4:00pm in the Rio Grande Zoo's Colores
Education Building. There is not a charge for the workshop, but you
must reserve your space in the class by calling 505-764-6214. Come
prepared for indoor and outdoor hands-on learning. Teachers will learn
about wolf biology and issues surrounding wolf reintroduction, visit the
Zoo's Mexican gray wolf exhibit, and participate in demonstrations of
lessons from the teacher's guide. Participants must bring their own
lunch.

The workshop is sponsored by the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge and
the Rio Grande Zoo.
