*iPlant Collaborative Teacher Fellowship *

*Experience plant biology research in the 21st century!*

*Application Deadline: April 8, 2009*

The iPlant Collaborative is an NSF-funded cyberinfrastructure project to
develop software tools that address “grand challenge” questions in plant
biology.

High school biology, math, and computer science/technology teachers are
invited, individually or as teams, to spend six weeks immersed in
cutting-edge plant science research alongside UA researchers.

Teachers:
·      participate in computational plant biology research
·      learn about plant biology and related mathematics and computational
topics
·      use the latest technology applications
·      collaborate across disciplines with other teacher fellows
·      develop curriculum materials on related content

Biology, mathematics, or computer science/technology teachers may apply
individually or as a team. Teachers receive stipends.  Limited housing is
available.**

*When*: 6 weeks, Monday- Friday, all day, June 1 – July 10
